Following up on our hugely successful Community Welcome event last Friday, we are planning another great get-together for Thursday, September 30th. It will also be on the Community Center porch, but we'll be offering a zoom option for those who can't attend in person. It will be from 5-7 pm. We'll be hearing some reflections from a founder of the Tiny House (TH) and Tiny Living Movement, who participated in one of the earliest tiny house communities in the US...and who has gone on to help guide interested groups here in the US and around the world on building tiny houses and developing sustainable TH communities. And we'll be doing some interactive thinking and sharing about what it takes to make a community "successful". More details will be posted here soon... SO... Mark your calendars and plan to join us!

Come one, Come ALL! Reminder for our Community Building Event, Thursday (tomorrow!) night at 5 on the Community Center Porch, or by zoom. We'll be sharing the zoom link tomorrow. Here is our speaker's bio...Lee Pera, as you can see, has an awesome background in the Tiny House Movement, and also as an international consultant for community development. Lee will bring us some thoughts, and then we will all be participating in exploring 3 Community Models which will give us some great ideas and inspiration for what WE want at Tiny Estates! Lee's Bio: Lee Pera built her own tiny house on wheels and the nation’s first urban tiny home community in Washington DC in 2012. With a background in community development, education, and geography, she has worked in ten countries in the Americas and has spent time in more than 40 countries through her travels, work, and studies. In her work, Lee helps citizens and communities to envision and enact housing and land stewardship models that are driven and owned by them. She has mapped land tenure and natural resources throughout Latin America with citizen groups and NGOs, managed geospatial projects for the US government, and educated cities and citizens on tiny house development and zoning. She is currently building a data platform for zoning related to tiny houses and consulting on tiny home zoning and how to incorporate tiny houses into community development strategies. She holds Master’s degrees in Geography and Public Policy, and she has been featured in numerous media outlets, including NPR, Washington Post, Atlantic Cities, Dwell, Inhabitat, Grist, Architectural Record, CNN, CBS, and ABC. www.leepera.comwww.ReCommune.org
