Good morning All, on a chilly morning!
I'd like to invite everyone to join me in re-purposing any pumpkins or squash which we used for our autumn decorations:
1) we could use them for compost for next year's community garden
2) I am collecting any which are still relatively fresh and I will be roasting the seeds and maybe using the insides to cook...I'm doing some research on the 'decorative' ones to be sure they are edible (!) but traditional pumpkins and the goose neck ones I am sure make good eating. If you give me yours, I'll share the baked/roasted results with you! Or have some fun doing it yourself!
3) if there's interest, we could have a community cooking/baking event - in person (for those who are comfortable gathering in our new basecamp kitchen) and virtually (for those who prefer distancing, you can join in by video)
Let me know if there is any interest! Hate to see all that good stuff go to waste... Betsy
